PM PRANAM Scheme 2026: Benefits, Incentives & Other Details

The PM PRANAM Scheme (PM-PRANAM) Scheme is an initiative approved by the Government of India on June 28, 2023, with the primary objective of reducing the use of chemical fertilizers while increasing the adoption of organic and alternative fertilizers. Through this scheme, states are provided with special grants or incentives to safeguard soil health and promote eco friendly agriculture. Under this initiative, states are encouraged to reduce fertilizer consumption; in return, they receive financial incentives equivalent to a specific portion of the funds saved on fertilizer subsidies. The core aims of this scheme are to improve soil health, ensure environmental protection, and popularize the use of organic and bio-fertilizers. Although farmers do not receive direct cash benefits, they benefit indirectly through improved agricultural practices, awareness programs, and support for natural farming measures that, in the long run, render the agricultural system more eco friendly and sustainable.
